Patum Rice Mill and Granary Public Company Limited
The Company manufactures and distributes milled rice both locally and overseas including by-products from rice milling process. Products produced for domestic distribution are rice packed in 2 kilogram and 5 kilogram bags under the brand named ““Mah Boonkrong” and “Patta”. The Company as well manufactures non-glutinous rice flour, glutinous rice flour, mixed rice flour and crispy Thai Jasmine rice flour for both local and international sales; domestically distributed flour is under “Mah Boonkrong” trademark.
PRG. Granary Co., Ltd.
The Company operates a rice silo and warehouse for storage of the rice paddy and milled rice, while also offering a rice bagging service provided solely for PRG through the rental of its facilities and assets.
Ratchasima Rice Co., Ltd.
Approved and promoted by Board of Investment (BOI) to hand over the best quality selection of milled rice from PRG. The Company is the manufacturer and distributor of milled rice that is packed in 2 different sizes: 2 kilo and 5 kilo in the local market under “Mah Boonkrong” trademark.
Simapac Co., Ltd.
Approved and promoted by Board of Investment (BOI) to be the manufacturer and distributor of not only milled rice bags and husk ash bags for PRG but also laminated bags with LLDPE for every business.
In addition, the Company initiated a project to generate electricity on a small-scale, powered by the combustion of rice dregs obtained from the rice polishing process. The power will be sold to the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT).
PRODUCTS
RICE
Our rice milling plant is located next to the Chaopraya River and fully equipped with the state-of-art manufacturing machinery. The mill production capacity is 1,000 tons of paddies per day. The Company has large silos capable of holding up to 70,000 tons of paddy and 12,000 of milled rice. Rice products are divided as follows:
THAI HOM MALI RICE (JASMINE RICE)
Thai Hom Mali Rice is originated in Thailand. This local variety is blessed with a natural fragrance. Thai Hom Mali rice is a long and slender kernel. The grain, after it is cooked, is known for its unique texture and Jasmine scented fragrance, making it popular both in Thailand and foreign countries. Thai Hom Mali rice is mostly grown in the Northeastern part of Thailand and can be grown only once a year.
WHITE RICE
Thai White Rice is a long grain type. When cooked, the grains tend to separate and are light and fluffy. White Rice is grown throughout the country but the most popular area is the Central part of Thailand. Unlike Jasmine rice, white rice can be grown two or three times a year.
BROWN RICE OR CARGO RICE
Brown Rice is produced by only hulling process so it still has high nutrition such as Fiber, Vitamin B, Carbohydrate and Protein. In the past, consumers prefer to consume milled and polished white rice rather than brown rice, but at present people are more concerned about their health and prefer to consume more brown rice. Brown rice is also a main ingredient for Macrobiotic food.
BROKEN RICE
Broken Jasmine Rice and Broken White Rice are by-products from a rice milling process. Broken rice is raw material for rice flour, which is the main ingredient to make noodle, rice vermicelli, rice porridge.
FLOUR
Patum Rice Mill and Granary Public Company Limited intends to raise value of broken rice, which is a by-product from rice milling process. In 1999, the Company has built a flourmill factory in Sikhiu District, Nakornratchasima Province. It is one of the modest factories in Thailand with a high technology of Wet-Milling process. The factory has the production capacity of approximately 750 tons per month. Rice flour products are divided as follows:
NON-GLUTINOUS RICE FLOUR
Non-Glutinous Rice Flour is made of broken white rice. Rice flour is used as an ingredient for different kind of food such as rice noodle, rice cracker, cookies, Chinese and Japanese food including various kinds of sauces and gravy.
GLUTINOUS RICE FLOUR
Glutinous Rice Flour is made of best quality broken glutinous rice. After baked, it is softer and stickier than rice flour. Glutinous rice flour is popularly used as a main ingredient for Asian Food both main course and dessert. It is also used in the production of frozen food and sauces.
MIXED FLOUR
Mixed Flour is rice flour or glutinous rice flour mixed with a variety of starch e.g. rice starch, tapioca starch or other kinds of starch depending on customer’s order. The main market for mixed flour is Japan.

CRUDE BRAN OIL
Crude Bran Oil is extracted from bran. Crude bran oil can be extracted as rice-bran oil, which is an ingredient for Mayonnaise and salad dressing. In addition, the fat that is extracted from crude bran oil can be used as an ingredient for shortening, margarine, animal feed, soap, steric acid, and pure bran oil. The Company has the capacity to extract 100 tons of bran per day, all of which are sold to local cooking oil manufacturers as well as export.
EXTRACTED BRAN
After extraction, the leftovers,extracted bran, is sold to animal feedmills.
HUSK ASH
After a hulling process, paddy husks are used as an alternative energy source to produce superheated steam to drive the electric turbines. The husk ash is then exported to Europe for use as insulation in cast iron foundries.
Mah Boonkrong
“Mah Boonkrong” Thai Hom Mali Rice 100% is the selected quality Thai Hom Mali rice that is polished until it becomes shiny and contains no foreign matter. “Mah Boonkrong” Thai Hom Mali Rice can maintain its quality of fragrance, stickiness and softness for a long time.
“Mah Boonkrong” White Rice 100% is the regular rice that is polished until it is shiny and contains no foreign matter. “Mah Boonkrong” White Rice has its unique quality of slight hardness, friable, unsloppy and fluffy.
“Mah Boonkrong” Hom Pathum Rice 100% (Thai Pathumtani Fragrant Rice) is a new choice for budget-oriented consumers. The qualities of fragrance, stickiness and softness of Hom Pathum Rice are close to those of Hom Mali Rice.
“Mah Boonkrong” Homthip is the mix of Thai Hom Mali rice and white rice. When cooked, the rice is soft and scented and the grains are light and fluffy.
“Mah Boonkrong” Ruangkaew White Rice 10% is the good quality of Thai white rice with some of broken rice (less than 12.0 %). The rice is low-priced and of good quality. The grains are light and fluffy.
“Mah Boonkrong” Ruangthip White Rice 15% is the good quality of Thai white rice with some of broken rice (less than 17.0 %). The rice is inexpensive and of good quality. The grains are light and fluffy.
“Mah Boonkrong” Khao Klong Hom Nopphakhun (Thai Hom Mali Brown Rice 100%) is especially nutritious. It contains vitamin B1, vitamin B6, vitamin E and fiber highly. Khao Klong Hom Nopphakhun is sticky, soft and has a fragrant aroma. It is packed in vacuum bag in order to prolong its quality.
Jasmine Gold
Thai Hom Mali Rice 100% Grade A (double polished) packed in 2 kg. vacuum zip lock bag under the “Jasmine Gold” brand. We carefully select only the fresh harvested Thai Hom Mali rice, to ensure its fresh aroma, and its unique tenderness. To maintain these superb quality and cleanliness and to prevent any insects, vacuum rice packaging techinique is used.

Thai Jasmine Rice Flour
Thai Jasmine Rice Flour is made from finely wet-milled raw Thai Hom Mali rice which consists of less than 20% amylose. To provide large water absorption and massive expansion, Thai Jasmine Rice Flour is properly used in snacks, as well as to substitute wheat flour at varying levels for several products such as cakes, cookies, deep-fried doughstick (Pa Tong Go), doughnuts, water lettuce-shaped sweetmeat (Khanom Dok Chok), rolled sweetmeat (Khanom Tong Pub) and rice crispies, thanks to its amylopectin content which is higher than that of non-glutinous rice flour.
